Dear members
Our new club year started 1st April and along with the increased daylight hours and fine weather it’s great to see so many events appearing in the calendar, including the Green Belt Relay and Surrey Road League fixtures. You will shortly be receiving membership renewal notifications for the 2022/23 year. We have kept the membership fee at £10 and you also have the option for England Athletics (EA) registration for an additional £16 (this is a £1 increase for the new year).
In other news, Louise is leaving her role as membership secretary. She’s held this position since our foundation 4+ years ago and in that time has set up the membership process, welcomes potential new members to the club and brings lots of ideas and energy to the committee. Louise will be sorely missed and we wish to thank her for all her efforts over this time. It’s a relief to report that she is not going away and will continue to be a fully paid up member of the club! Of course this means we have a vacancy on the committee and we urge you all to give some serious thought to whether you could spare just a small amount of time to help the club function smoothly - it really isn’t a burden and remember clubs only thrive through the efforts and dedication of all the membership. If you think this is a possibility please do speak to a member of the committee to find out more. Thank you.
It is a pleasure to report that Maria Jovani is joining the committee as Social secretary. Maria has lots of experiences and ideas on how we might create new opportunities for club events and socials, and we very much welcome her enthusiasm for all things running.
In the week’s ahead we plan to get into more of a routine with our regular weekly runs and meet ups following all the disruptions of the recent past.
Hope to see you all out and about in the very near future.
Happy running!

SHAEF Shifters Running Club
