Quick update as we head towards Christmas…
Firstly, congratulations to all of the members who have been ending 2021 with some competitive running, having seem participation across Weybridge 10k, Valencia marathon, Hogsback, and also the Met league cross country very recently. Great to see.
It was also super to see so many of you at the recent club AGM. In addition to the usual formalities, it was great to recognise various members for their recent running endeavours with the annual awards, and also have the opportunity to catch up with friends and meet some new folk. Check out the clubs social media for photos from the night.
For 2022, the first planned event we are hoping for a big turnout is the Valentine’s 10k. This takes place on Sunday 13th February. Entries open, and details here:

Get yourself entered and on the start line!
Obviously the current situation with regards to covid is quite uncertain, and we’ll continue to follow the government guidelines and restrictions as well as anything issued by England Athletics; upto now nothing specific for running.
With that in mind, we’ll be going ahead with the planned SHAEF Christmas gathering, while following all guidelines regarding wearing masks etc. This is scheduled for Thursday 16th December at The Adelaide, Teddington. We recognise some members may not feel comfortable attending in the run-up to Christmas, and numbers will almost certainly be down, but for those of you who would still like to join you will be treated to not only good company but also the annual quiz, from around 8pm.
We will also look to have another social gathering early in 2022, quite possibly immediately following Valentine’s 10k.
Also thought you may be interested to know the club now have a new tall ‘teardrop’ style flag, which will be making an appearance in February, as well as some informational flyers about the club, which you may see popping up in the area 🙂
Stay safe, and enjoy the festive season.
